1841 an entire wrapper addressed to Rochester, New York, U.S.A. bearing on front the Kirkwall, Orkney Islands, boxed "Paid" handstamp in red ink and dated on reverse for FE 11 1841. The wrapper was pre-paid 1/- in red manuscript, the rate to destination under the Anglo-U.S. treaty, being carried on the Caledonia from Liverpool on 4th March arriving in Boston on 20th March 1841.
