1841 an entire wrapper bearing an 1840 1d black issue addressed to Inverness together with an entire wrapper bearing an 1841 1d red-brown issue addressed to Dornoch, both adhesives being cancelled by the postmaster at Tonque in Sutherland in black ink from his quill pen in the shape of a cross. The remoter offices of Sutherland were not issued with a Maltese cross handstamp. A very rare and most attractive pair of covers.  Bov#746
