1840 2d Mulready wrapper addressed to London bearing on front the two line "Strath/peffer" handstamp in black ink being cancelled by the head office Maltese cross of Dingwall in red ink and dated on reverse for OC 6 1840 with a London arrival mark for OC 9 1840. The use of the 2d Mulready stationery is exceptionally rare in the Highlands and this example is one of the very few recorded examples to be used in the whole of Scotland. Bov#48
